Detailed Job Description & Responsibilities
As an Advanced Engineer - AI/ML, you will join a high-impact team dedicated to building next-generation Automotive AI systems. This role is aligned with HARMAN AES’s vision of agentic, cross-domain automotive intelligence. You will focus on developing and deploying Small Language Models (SLMs), Vision-Language-Action (VLA/VLM) models, and complex AI orchestration layers across edge and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Model Development & Fine-Tuning: Develop, optimize, and fine-tune Small Language Models (SLMs) for in-vehicle conversational AI, context-aware reasoning, and intent handling. Work with VLM/VLA models for scene understanding and multi-modal perception.
- Edge & Cloud Deployment: Implement edge and cloud AI pipelines for real-time inference. Deploy optimized models on edge devices utilizing CPU, NPU, and GPU capabilities.
- Agentic AI & Orchestration: Build sophisticated AI orchestration layers, including intent routing, tool routing, policy engines, scheduling, and cross-domain context management.
- Multi-Modal Integration: Integrate voice (ASR, TTS, NLU), visual perception, and sensor fusion signals to enable seamless cross-domain intelligence across the cockpit, ADAS, and connected services.
- MLOps & Pipeline Design: Design robust MLOps workflows for model training, evaluation, deployment, and continuous monitoring, ensuring compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and automotive standards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with embedded software teams, cloud/data engineering teams, and HMI system integration teams to deliver end-to-end automotive AI platforms.
Detailed Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this advanced technical role, candidates must meet the following academic and professional requirements:
- Educational Qualification: B.E / B.Tech / M.E / M.Tech / MCA / M.Sc in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Experience: Up to 5 to 7 years of professional experience in developing and deploying AI/ML models.
- Domain Knowledge: Strong theoretical and practical understanding of deep learning, natural language processing (NLP), and computer vision.
