Detailed Job Description and Responsibilities
As a Mainframe Developer at Infosys, you will be part of the Application Development and Maintenance service line. Mainframe systems continue to serve as the backbone of global financial, retail, and logistics enterprises. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure these critical systems run smoothly, securely, and efficiently.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Requirement Analysis: Collaborating with business analysts and stakeholders to understand user requirements and translate them into technical system features.
- Code Development: Designing, building, and maintaining efficient, reusable, and reliable mainframe code using COBOL, PL/1, and JCL.
- System Optimization: Identifying bottlenecks, debugging complex issues, and recommending system solutions to improve processing times and resource utilization.
- Collaboration: Contributing actively to team meetings, troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
