Detailed Job Description & Responsibilities
As an Engineer in the Network Operations team, you will be at the forefront of maintaining the reliability and performance of Tata Communications' global network. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Network Monitoring: Proactively monitor global network infrastructure to identify, isolate, and resolve network anomalies before they impact customers.
- Incident Management: Log, track, and resolve network incidents in compliance with strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Technical Support: Provide high-quality technical support to enterprise customers, ensuring clear and timely communication throughout the troubleshooting process.
- Automation & Scripting: Utilize Python or Bash scripting to automate repetitive operational tasks and improve overall team efficiency.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of network changes, incident reports, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates applying for this role must meet the following academic and professional requirements:
- Education: B.E / B.Tech / MCA / M.Sc in Electronics & Communication (ECE), Computer Science (CSE), Information Technology (IT), or Telecommunications.
- Academic Performance: Minimum of 60% or 6.0 CGPA throughout 10th, 12th, and Graduation.
- Backlogs: No active backlogs at the time of the recruitment process.
- Batch: 2023, 2024, and 2025 graduates are highly encouraged to apply.
Required Skills & Preferred Qualifications
To excel in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in networking concepts and modern software tools:
- Networking Fundamentals: Deep understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP), and Switching technologies.
- Operating Systems: Hands-on experience or familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and command-line interfaces.
- Programming/Scripting: Basic knowledge of Python, Shell, or Perl scripting for automation purposes.
- Certifications (Preferred): CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or equivalent networking certifications will be a major advantage.
- Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to work in a 24/7 shift environment.
