Detailed Job Description and Responsibilities

As a Service Delivery Engineer in the SRE - System Delivery team, you will join a centralized, cross-functional, and horizontal unit. The team collaborates closely with other specialized SRE divisions to build, manage, and scale PhonePe's massive production infrastructure. Your primary objective is to ensure uninterrupted services to millions of users across the country by executing critical production management tasks.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Distributed Systems Management: Build, configure, and manage highly distributed systems such as Galera, Nginx, Aerospike, ElasticSearch, and RabbitMQ (RMQ).
  • Vulnerability Patching: Deploy operating system vulnerability fixes and security patches across production systems to maintain a secure environment.
  • Database Maintenance: Perform routine database maintenance activities, ensuring optimal performance, data integrity, and minimal downtime.
  • Proxy Configurations: Build, test, and roll out proxy configurations to production systems to optimize traffic routing and security.
  • Rotational Shifts: Provide 24/7 on-call support and work in rotational shifts to ensure round-the-clock infrastructure monitoring and incident response.

Detailed Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  • Educational Qualification: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (B.E/B.Tech), Computer Applications (MCA), Computer Science (B.Sc/M.Sc), or a highly analytical discipline.
